Newsletter 2010.6

G'day all. Repton was our final Rally for the year. The Christmas rally has always been our 'Main Event' of the year. It was therefore very dissapointing for the Committee to have so few members make the effort this year. It was however, great to see five new couples, who have just joined the Club since our article appeared in the Caravan and Motorhome Magazine, come along and join us.

A BIG welcome to Len and Christine Brockett, Robert and Barbara Byrne, Wayne and Karen Cooper, Eric and Ann Porter and Raf and Julia Stary.

The weather was not all that kind to us but with a great Camp Kitchen we managed to keep fairly dry most of the time. From all comments made to me it seemed that everyone attending had a great time. See separate report from our Rally Leader, Colleen. Plenty of pics are on the Blog Site http://www.mnccclub.blogspot.com/.

I would like to thank Colleen, our Rally Leader, Ron Castle organizer of the catering (Golden Roast) Lyn and others for organizing the decorations and Ros for running the Christmas Present 'distribution' (or swap if you like).

Our first event for 2011 will be a BBQ at Telegraph Point Reserve on 23rd of January 11.30 A.M.
Our first Rally for 2011 will be at Mylstom on 18th to 21st February.
Also , Deposits for the Glen Innes Celtic Festival at the end of April/early May will be required by the end of December. A separate email covering these events will be sent out shortly.

Thanks to those members that attended events and Rallies throughout the year and made them so successful. I will have a full ' What's on for 2011' available by the January Bar-B-Q at Telegraph point on 23 January so that you can plan ahead.

Ros and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

Keep those wheels turning.

Cheers. John.

Christmas Rally Repton

Hi Everyone, the Christmas Party at Repton was a great success. The food was good with a bit left over for Sunday night. The new members that joined us thought it was very good, and what a great group they are. Thank you for coming. I'm sure you will all enjoy the Club and our Rallies and Safaries in 2011. About five vans decorated with Christmas Lights and was judged by Tracy and her son from the Park. 1st Prize went to Ann and Eric Porter (new members) with a lot of help from Abbie (their dog), 2nd Prize Annette and Keith Clarke, 3rd Prize Ros and John Lenihan. A lot of laughs had by all. Sunday was a bit wet but it didn't matter as we all got together in the Camp Kitchen for Ron and Lyn's pancake morning tea. He's a good cook and nothing was left over. A few had to leave on Sunday but the diehards stayed on. We are all looking forward to the January BBQ at Telegraph Point Reserve and our first Rally for the year at Mylstom in February.

Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone.

Newsletter 2010.5

G'day all. We have had two Rallies since the last newsletter, the first at Nambucca Heads with only six vans in attendance. A bit disappointing considering we also held the AGM. However Robyn and Doug Magennis and Don Sykes came up on Sunday morning to swell the ranks. All those that attended had a great time and the 'Pot Luck' Dinner on Saturday night was a great success. Happy hours were well attended even though the weather was not that kind.

The new Committee is John Lenihan President, Ron Castle Vice President, Colleen Crowley Secretary, Doug Magennis Treasurer, committee members Warwick Laney, Don Lewis and Bob Jolly. Thank you to all those who attended.

The last Rally was to Knorrit Flat with only three Vans in attendance, unfortunately a couple had to pull out due to unforeseen circumstances. From reports coming back it is a really nice venue, however, the rules and regulations seem a bit strange. Having said that those that did attend said that they would return. No trouble having a 'full house' at happy hour each afternoon.

It is with deep regret that I have to inform members that Doug and Robyn Magennis's son Scott passed away on Sunday 28th November. Scott had a stroke on Saturday and did not recover.

On behalf of all members of the club I pass on our Deepest Sympathy at your sad loss.

Regards. John Lenihan. President.
