Ellenborough Reserve 19-22 October 2012

What a great weekend, great weather, great food, great company. It doesn't get much better than that.
We had seven vans in attendance with a total of 15 people which included visitors Pam and Garry Stratton and my step-son Andrew. By all feedback to me a great time was had by all.Unfortunately Anne and Allan had to return home early as Allan's knee was giving him a hard time after a recent operation. Get better soon Allan. On a sadder note Anne has advised me that their dog Vanny had to be euthanased last Saturday. Our thoughts are with you at such a sad time. Vanny has been a part of our club scene for a long time.
The weather Gods were on our side yet again, however maybe a little too much on Saturday, with the mercury climbing to 40 Degrees. However as you can see from the Pics below we found ways to keep cool. The weather for the rest of our time there was near perfect.
Keith and Jeff proved their worth as fihermen bagging around a dozen cat-fish and several Bass. If you thought cat -fish were not good eating you should try them the way these guys cook them.
Thanks to everyone that chipped in to cook breakfast on Sunday morning. A great feed and a great effort.

We only have two events left for the year, Woolgoolga 9/12 November and  Brigadoon 7/10 December.
Close off date for the Christmas Rally is 16th November. Don't leave it much longer to book.

Cheers.     John.

Newsletter 2012.5

G'day all. Since the last newsletter we have had the July BBQ and Rallies to Repton and Bretti Reserve.

A great turnout for the July  BBQ, A great time was had  by all who attended.
See my extended report further down the Blog

Only five vans attended the August Rally at Repton but those that did attend had a great time. The company and weather were both great. The food for the Italian theme night was also very good. Well done to all the cooks. A big thank you to Bob Jolly for organizing this trip. See his report further down the Blog.

Six vans attended the September Rally to Bretti Reserve. Once again the weather was kind. According to Rally Leader Doug Magennis, the Reserve gets a 5 Star Rating. A big thanks to Doug for organizing this trip. See his report below.

Next Rally is to Ellenborough, 19th to 22nd October. Call me by Sunday 14th if you are a late starter.

Woolgoolga Rally is 9th to 12th November. There is no theme night for this Rally and there will be a (BYO) BBQ get-together Saturday night. Cut off date is 19th October.

The Christmas Rally will come around in a hurry, so if you haven't booked yet I suggest that you do so soon if you want a particular site. Cut off date is 16th November.

Keep those wheels turning.

Cheers.      John.

Bretti Reserve Rally 7th to 10th September 2012

As a free-stay location Bretti Reserve got a 5 out of 5 Star rating from the occupants of the 6 Vans who were able to attend. The location, company and weather were all great. Thanks must go to Allan and Anne who originally suggested the location but due to other commitments couldn't make it this time.
Three lots of members arrived early on the 4th and reserved a great location next to the junction of the two Rivers. When the other 3 groups arrived there was ample room for all in the same area.
'Happy Hour', as usual was an enjoyable highlight at the end of a relaxing day and seemed to extend well into dark around the large camp fire. Thanks to 'Wayndear and Bubbles', in particular, for the abundant wood supply and campfires during the camp.
Sunday morning breakfast was 'courtesy of the Club' with a big bacon and eggs breakfast. Thanks to all the cooks for a great feed.
After the Rally two lots set off to head north and another two lots set off heading south to continue their holidaying.
Remember if you'r ever over Gloucester way, check out Bretti Reserve for a great free-stay.
