A great roll up of 9 vans attended Harrington rally. Those absent on family chores and adventures in the far north will just have to catch up next year. This little hidden gem provided few fish but a lot of fun at the Bogan trivia quiz. Note, the auditors will be out and about should all trivia prize winners again come from the same table! Many took note of the non compulsory itineraries and some even returned with funds courtesy of the local pokies to feed the barbecue on club night. Thanks. Members again excelled with a feast worthy of the finest north coast kitchens. Not a black tie event but definitely bogan practical with tracky dacks and flannos repelling the August chills. However not even the chill winds could disrupt the camaraderie and warmth coming from the happy hours. Some will be off on solo adventures but for the rest of you don't miss Jeff and Noeline's next rally to Rolland Plains
Cheers

Rally Moonee Beach July 2017
Rally Report
Moonee Beach 20th to 24th July.
We had nine vans attend this beautiful tourist park, including new members Kevin and Diane. The weather was perfect with beautiful sunny days and cool clear nights. We had Happy Hour around one of the vans on Thursday evening which ended early due to the cool night air. So Friday’s Happy Hour saw us in the camp kitchen for drinks.
Some of us stayed local and walked dogs along the beach and headland, while some others were more adventurous and explored Coffs and Sawtell.
We had a selection of warming casseroles for our Saturday dinner spicy pork ribs, massaman curry, beef casserole all supplemented with garlic bread, rice and vegies. The theme was Christmas in July. Many thanks go to Carmel,John L,John C and Noeline for preparing world class sweets. Wobbly jelly cake, cheesecake and the Christmas pudding was simply intoxicating! Many thanks to Maree for providing Xmassy table decorations.
On Sunday morning Kevin and Diane put on a demonstration of dog agility with their three dogs leaping hurdles and running through windy plastic tunnels. My Lucy tried the course out and succeeded in running though the tunnels. I was very proud of my Kelpie.
We had lunch at the excellent Moonee Tavern with the dogs attending too but staying leashed in the beer garden. Meals were very generous and delicious. Not surprisingly on Sunday night there was not a big attendance at Happy Hour!
Although the official rally has ended, some vanners have taken advantage of the weather and the park deals to stay on and enjoy this magic venue.
Next rally is at the Colonial Tourist Park at Harrington from 21st to 25th August.

Rally Leader.
