Rally Report – Fishing Haven, Palmer’s Island
5th to 8th May 2017
We had a good turnout of eight vans for this rally. Some arrived a day or so early to enjoy the views of the Clarence River or try their luck at fishing. We also had Don and Liz Lewis join us for the weekend.
The weather was not the best on Friday but we struggled and had an enjoyable Happy Hour in any case. We set up a couple of pergolas for our dinner on Saturday night. Dinner was barbeque with a selection of salads. Bob caught a bream for Maureen’s meal. Sweets were provided by Maureen and Carmel. Teamwork was the order of the day with everyone contributing to a very successful meal with excellent company.
The weather was perfect for our pancake morning tea on Sunday. The pancakes were prepared and cooked by Carmel. Beautiful sunshine and warm all day. The rest of the day was spent relaxing or fishing. Raf ran an IT clinic to help sort out various problems with devices and PCs.
Don and Liz joined the club prior to their departure. We now have 22 active members.
Some members left on Sunday and Monday but four vans will stay for the week.
The park is well organised and quiet and we also had access to the Tru Blu Tiger Prawn farm.
Our next rally is scheduled for Gumma Reserve from 13th to 16th June.
