Newsletter 2013.1

G'day all. A great start to the year with good turnouts for both the January BBQ and the first Rally of the year at Manning Point. The weather was mainly kind to us on both occasions and we managed to get through both events without too many dramas. Unfortunately I broke my collarbone at Manning Point and did not quite enjoy the event as as much as I may have. I would like to thank all the members who offered help to myself and Ros during the week, especially Ron and Lyn Castle who unselfishly cut short their trip by one night so that they could come back in Lyn's car on the Friday so Ron could drive my rig home. Thank you. Since returning home I have also suffered from an infected heel which won't heal. I will be going into hospital tomorrow 14/3 for a procedure to get this fixed. Consequently I will be 'out of action' for a while.

I was a bit short on pics from Manning Point, so if anyone has any send them to me and I will put them on the Blog.

Unfortunately Annette Clarke has had to return to Sydney for further treatment. Our Prayers and thoughts are with you and Keith at this time Annie.

The Free Camp to Ellenborough Reserve in March was cancelled due to the bad weather. We will try to slot it in somewhere later in the year.

Don't forget April Rally to South West Rocks 5th- 8th April. Please advise Mark Townsend once you have booked.

Keep those wheels turning.

Cheers. John.

Manning Point Rally Feb. 2013

Where do I start, what a week. we had 11 vans ( 11th being new members Edith and Trevor) with some staying only a few days and some for the week. Unfortunately John (President) had a tumble on Friday and ended up in Taree Hospital with a broken Collarbone. He spent the rest of the night there waiting for xrays and was very sore and sorry and had to take it easy for the rest of the week.
Saturday night we had our combined BBQ which was great and the wide variety of salads and sweets that you all contributed was all very good and we never seem to double up on anything. We also had a couple of visitors in the Jollys and Moores who came down for the dinner with Bob still in a sling from his shoulder operation. The weather was very good most of the week where we were hearing of rain and storms at home but we only had a few showers. The mossies were a bit of a nuisance but the park owner did his best to get rid of them with his smoke trolley with a few bangs to frighten some of the dogs and others telling him  where to go !! But nothing deterred our fishermen. The boys caught several fish off the beaches but some who fished the river found it tough.
All up a good Rally.  See you all at the next one at South West Rocks in April.

I have not included any more photos because I don't have any.  Two emails requesting pics from attendees = zero.
