Lightning Ridge September 2014

Rally Leaders Dave & Carmel Moore

Only six vans attended. Due to illness and personal reasons we had some late scratchings. We had quite a few enquiries regarding the club, We had our banner displayed prominently near the amenities block which would have the best facilities complete with hair dryers for men.

A good time was had by all with plenty of things to see and do. Some went underground, there were to tours to pubs in the scrub and car door tours. Some even went for a trip to Queensland to see the Hebel Pub. A few even found time for a round of golf.

The Saturday night BBQ was the usual high standard with sweets being the winner of the night.
Our visitors were two locals and two from Singleton (who just happened to be in the park). Sunday morning pancakes were served by Carmel & Maureen along with Carmel's birthday cake. (cooked by Maureen in her Baby Q). The weather was excellent and the pool in the park got some use.

Yamba Palmers Island August 2014

Rally Leaders Bob & Maureen Jolly

Seven vans ventured to “Fishermans Haven Caravan Park” on the weekend commencing 8th 2014 with some starting earlier and making it a week. Unfortunately this rally clashed with the Wauchope Caravan Show and this may have accounted for the lower numbers. We will endeavour to make sure this does not occur next year. The weather was fine and nice and warm during the day but once the red ball started to descend around 4.00pm the temperature dropped considerably. It was a very relaxing weekend for some (see photos) and plenty of fun and laughter at night. The meals were excellent but unfortunately no fish were caught. We lost a lot of rigs so it wasn’t long before we gave up completely. Some had the luxury of eating copious amounts of prawns freshly caught at Yamba. This caravan park does not have large camp kitchens so our gazebo alongside Dave Moore’s awning was sufficient shelter for the numbers attending. Thank you to all who assisted with meals and contributing salads, fried rice and deserts.

Maureen trying to stop Kevin & Bob spilling red wine on her. Shame on you both for wasting red wine.
I mean shame on you both for doing that to Maureen
