Belmont August 2011

First of all a big welcome to our new members Howard and Louise Edmonds who joined us at the BBQ at Henry Kendall Reserve and then came to the Rally at Belmont as new Caravanners. They said that they enjoyed themselves immensely.
We had good days and a couple of damp and cool nights which did not affect the mood of the members.
We did something different this time by not having a set meal but a combined effort by the ladies , started by Barbara's offer to make a pot of pumpkin soup. There was also a lovely vegetable soup and Louise brought a cooked chicken, Lyn brought a piece of roast lamb and fresh bread rolls and there were various other delights added to the mix. In all it was a great meal and a great evening as we sat in the new enclosed camp kitchen with lovely music and views of the Sunset on the lake.
Everyone did their own thing and seemed to enjoy themselves.
On Sunday morning (not too early) we had a Club Breakfast of eggs and bacon on bread rolls, Coffee and tea etc. It was a lot of fun and i would like to congratulate everyone for jumping in to help, not just with breakfast but the whole weekend, to make it the success it was.
One thing that I was dissapointed with was the number of members who failed to notify me that they were not going to attend. You need to understand that these sites are booked ahead by the Rally Leader and it is embarrassing to find that only seven vans were booked in when we had reserved all the waterfront sites for the Club.
Now with only a month to go there are only 6 vans booked in for Woolgoolga.
For those of you who don't know this place I would like to point out that it is at end of a road with a big Reserve Area with native bush adjacent to it, which is a great place for walking and a huge area to exercise the dogs. It is right on the Beach with a lovely wide sandy river on the other side. It is only a small van park but a real little hideaway and we have been looking forward to taking our group there. It is very popular in the Summer and often booked out .

Hoping to see you ALL there.

Ron Castle. Rally Leader.
